Un día con Holandesa!


Quiero contarles algo muy personal , para mi,
trabajar con caballos es una gran experiencia de vida, amo estar y cuidar de estos magníficos animales, compartir con ellos y verlos desarrollarse día a día; es alimento para mi alma. Los caballos aprenden tan rápido y son tan listos que nunca me dejan de sorprender y me motivan a aprender y aplicar nuevas técnicas de entrenamiento, buscando la mejor manera para comunicarme con ellos y eso me hace muy feliz! Espero disfruten de este proceso tanto como yo.


Hoy quiero que presten mucha atención  en los videos  de Holandesa al el hecho de que al leer el lenguaje corporal del caballo y honrarlo; provoca que el animal confíe cada vez más en nosotros.



En este video podemos ver que la bolsa plástica no significa ninguna amenaza para la potra. Esa es la meta ! Confianza plena en el humano y en los elementos que el humano presente.

Es la demostración de que el  trabajo de que hemos hecho hasta ahora ha sido bueno! Gracias a todas las experiencias positivas que ha tenido la potra; la introducción de la bola fue un éxito! Se requiere  mucha paciencia y de respeto a los límites del animal para crear conexión y confianza.



En este último video no quise desaprovechar la oportunidad para trabajar en el juego del puercoespín en las patas y practicar el manejo que va a ser necesario para cuando tengamos que recortar los cascos próximamente.

La próxima semana estaré presentando el proceso de la aplicación del spray.

Train Your Seat Trainers Forum

This summer, I had the most incredible opportunity to travel to the Netherlands for the Train Your Seat Trainers Forum. I have to say, it was nothing short of magical. But this trip was even more special because I got to share it with my wonderful friend and colleague, Trish Tweddell. We had a fantastic time together, and I can't wait to tell you all about it. A weekend at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.

This week I had the great fortune of visiting Ocala and to be present at one of the first events held at WEC During my last visits I have witnessed the construction process from it’s beginning,   when the first movements of land were carried out, and year before last around this time the stables were under way; but there is nothing comparable to being in the finished installations with warm up arenas, competition arenas, covered arenas, stadium, stalls, corrals, showrooms, stores, hotel and even a chapel! Made with a wonderful vision with every amenity necessary in order to host great equestrian events; the sensation is similar to being at Disney for horse lovers! This equestrian complex is the largest one in the United States and it is very impressive!   Ocala is a 4 hour drive from Miami, it is one of the cities in the United States with the highest number of horses.
