Cuantas veces has intentado aplicar desparasitantes o medicamentos a tus caballos; se te convierte en una lucha  y terminas haciéndolo a la fuerza?  La aplicación de cualquier medicamento líquido o en pasta como lo son los desparasitantes puede ser todo un reto al no preparar al caballo con tiempo para este procedimiento, para nosotros o mas bien desde nuestra perspectiva es algo tan "sencillo" y asumimos que para el caballo también debería serlo; además debería aceptarlo sin problemas! Cuando el caballo se resiste, lo hacemos a la fuerza lo cual se convierte en un procedimiento incómodo para el que lo aplica como también para el caballo; además por la resistencia del caballo no es seguro para nosotros y cuando se trata de medicamentos no tenemos la certeza de que hemos aplicado la cantidad recomendada. Día de Spray! Hola! Muchas gracias por todos los emails y comentarios que he recibido; me alegra muchísimo saber que el tema de este blog les ha gustado y que quieren ver más. El tema de esta semana es la introducción al spray ; les voy a presentar a Hakasan y también veremos a Holandesa. Ser consientes de nuestro comportamiento es uno de los primeros pasos que debemos dar para ser efectivos y estar seguros cuando tratamos con animales tan sensibles como lo son los caballos. Aunque tengamos las mejores intensiones en muchas ocasiones se nos olvida que estamos tratando con un animal presa. Los humanos pensamos erróneamente que la única percepción del mundo es la nuestra; no entendemos que algo que para nosotros puede ser inofensivo a un caballo puede causarle una reacción de terror. Debemos recordar que los sentidos de los caballos son mucho más desarrollados que el de los humanos y que por su naturaleza los caballos van a huir a cualquier cosa que sea desconocida.

A Day with Holandesa! I would like to tell you something very personal, for me, working with horses is a great life experience. I love being with and taking care of these magnificent animals. Sharing time with them and watching them develop daily is food for my soul. Horses learn very quickly and are so smart that they never cease to amaze and motivate me to learn and apply new training techniques. Searching for the best way to communicate with them makes me very happy! I hope you enjoy this process as much as I do. Today I want you to pay much attention to the videos of Holandesa, to the fact that when reading the horses body language and honoring it induces the horse to trust us more and more each time.   In this video we can see that the plastic bag poses no threat to the filly. Un día con Holandesa! Quiero contarles algo muy personal , para mi, trabajar con caballos es una gran experiencia de vida, amo estar y cuidar de estos magníficos animales, compartir con ellos y verlos desarrollarse día a día; es alimento para mi alma. Los caballos aprenden tan rápido y son tan listos que nunca me dejan de sorprender y me motivan a aprender y aplicar nuevas técnicas de entrenamiento, buscando la mejor manera para comunicarme con ellos y eso me hace muy feliz! Espero disfruten  de este proceso tanto como yo. Hoy quiero que presten mucha atención  en los videos  de Holandesa al el hecho de que al leer el lenguaje corporal del caballo y honrarlo; provoca que el animal confíe cada vez más en nosotros. Alex Campos   Alex is one of my students, she is visiting from England. Alex is part of my internship program, she is currently working on passing her Level 4 with a ++which is one of the best qualification one can obtain in the levels of the Parelli Program. Next year she would like to go to the Parelli Campus to continue her training and become a Certified Instructor in the Parelli method.   Alex is a hard worker and I notice her daily progress both in her work and her horsemanship.   Gustavo Montero Gustavo is Costa Rican and like Alex ,Gustavo is part of my work team in the dealings with the horses.
